📌 NEET UG 2026 Syllabus — Overview

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official NEET UG 2026 syllabus based on the guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC). This syllabus is based on the NCERT curriculum of Class 11 and Class 12 covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany + Zoology).

There are no major changes in NEET UG 2026 — the NMC revised syllabus implemented in 2024 remains valid for 2026 as well. If you are following the NCERT books of the 2025-26 session, you are on the right track.

Important: The NEET UG 2026 syllabus has been approved by NMC (National Medical Commission). NCERT Class 11 & 12 books are the primary study material. No additional books are required.

⚠️ Note: Certain chapters removed from the syllabus in 2024 (such as Communication Systems and some portions of Semiconductors) are NOT included in NEET 2026. Follow the confirmed chapter list below.

📊 NEET UG 2026 Exam Pattern

The NEET UG 2026 paper pattern is given below. All 180 questions are compulsory — there is no optional Section B or internal choice. This pattern has been in place since 2024 and continues for 2026 as confirmed by NTA.

Subject Questions Max Marks
Physics 45 (All compulsory) 180
Chemistry 45 (All compulsory) 180
Biology (Botany + Zoology) 90 (All compulsory) 360
Total 180 720

Marking Scheme: Correct answer = +4 marks | Wrong answer = −1 mark (Negative Marking) | Unanswered / Skipped = 0 marks. All 180 questions must be attempted — there is no optional section.

💡 NEET 2026 Preparation Tips

After understanding the syllabus, it is essential to prepare with the right strategy. Follow these tips:

📚 NCERT First, Always

NCERT books are the primary source for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. 85–90% of NEET questions come directly from NCERT. Reading them line by line is essential.

🔁 Revision Schedule

Revise each chapter at least 3 times — once after reading, again after 1 week, and once more a month before the exam. Use the spaced repetition technique.

📝 Previous Year Papers

Solve NEET previous year question papers from the last 10 years. This helps you understand the paper pattern and identify the most important topics.

⏱️ Mock Tests Weekly

Take one full-length mock test every week — 180 questions in 180 minutes (1 minute per question). This improves time management and accuracy. Practice mocks strictly as per the NEET 2026 pattern.

🎯 Biology Ko Priority

Biology carries 360 marks — 50% of the paper. Do not neglect it. Memorize diagrams, definitions, and examples from NCERT. Genetics requires special attention.

📊 Weak Topics Identify

After each mock test, identify your weak chapters and spend more time on them. Keep maintaining your strong chapters. Topic-wise analysis is essential for consistent improvement.

Pro Tip: Scoring 600+ is possible by reading only NCERT, provided you study all chapters thoroughly and carefully. Additional books are needed only for Physics numericals (selected chapters of H.C. Verma).

🚫 NMC Revised Syllabus — Removed Topics

NMC revised the syllabus in 2024 and removed certain topics that will not appear in NEET 2026 either. There is no need to study these:

❌ Physics — Removed

  • Communication Systems (full chapter)
  • Experimental Skills (as separate unit)

❌ Chemistry — Removed

  • Some topics from Environmental Chemistry
  • Chemistry in Everyday Life (reduced)

⚠️ Note: The list of removed topics may vary across different coaching institutes. Always verify from the official NMC/NTA notification. The updated confirmed syllabus is available in our app.
