Important: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts counselling for 15% AIQ seats, 100% Deemed/Central Universities, ESIC, and AFMC (registration only). Candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are 100% eligible to participate in 15% AIQ.

📋 Counselling Process (Step-by-Step)

    Online Registration & Fee Payment
    Register on mcc.nic.in. Pay the non-refundable registration fee and the refundable security deposit based on the type of colleges you are applying for (AIQ vs Deemed).
  • 2
    Choice Filling & Locking
    Fill preferences of colleges and courses. Arrange them in order of priority. Don't forget to 'Lock' the choices before the deadline, else they will be auto-locked.
  • 3
    Round 1 Allotment & Free Exit
    Seat allotment result is published. Candidates can join the allotted college, or choose 'Free Exit' (not joining without losing the security deposit).
  • 4
    Round 2 & Upgradation
    Candidates can opt for upgradation from Round 1 to Round 2. If a seat is allotted in Round 2 and the candidate does not join, the security deposit is forfeited.
  • 5
    Round 3 & Stray Vacancy
    Fresh registrations are allowed in Round 3. Stray Vacancy round fills remaining seats (usually no fresh registration allowed here). Strict penalty applies for leaving a seat allotted in Stray Round.

📌 What is Free Exit? In Round 1, if you are allotted a seat but choose not to join the college, there is no penalty. Your security deposit remains safe, and you are eligible to participate directly in Round 2.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is 'Free Exit' in Round 1 of MCC Counselling?

A 'Free Exit' means if a candidate is allotted a seat in Round 1 and chooses not to report/join the allotted college, they will not be penalized. Their refundable security deposit will not be forfeited, and they are eligible for Round 2.

Can I do fresh registration in Round 2 or Round 3?

Yes, fresh registrations are allowed in Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3 (Mop-Up). However, no fresh registration is permitted in the Stray Vacancy round.

Do I need to fill choices again in Round 2?

Yes. Choices filled in the previous round become null and void automatically. You must submit and lock fresh choices for every round you participate in.

What happens if I leave a seat in Stray Vacancy Round?

If a candidate is allotted a seat in the Stray Vacancy Round and does not join, their security deposit is forfeited, and they are debarred from taking the NEET exam for the next 1 year.

How can I apply for AFMC Pune MBBS?

Candidates must register on the MCC portal (mcc.nic.in) and explicitly opt for AFMC during registration. MCC will send the list of registered candidates to AFMC authorities. AFMC will then publish a merit list and call shortlisted candidates for further screening (ToELR, Psychometric test, Interview, and Medical Exam) at Pune.

Can a candidate from Telangana or Andhra Pradesh participate in 15% AIQ?

Yes. Since 2018, candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are 100% eligible to participate against the 15% All India Quota seats without any restrictions.
